Lake

My final sound is fairly simple, but I love it nonetheless. It is your generic waves-on-rocks sound, however I was able to get close enough to the edge of the shore to capture very precise, very small amounts of water crashing atop the rocks.

Sqeaky Swing

I headed north a bit and came across a quiet park between Marshall and Cass St. Lucky for me, a young girl was swinging by herself. I casually stood against the fence with my back to her so I wouldn't look like a creep and captured the nostalgic squeaking of the metal swingset.

Metro Market

For my next sound, I explored the ways in which multiple sounds coming from different directions blend together and echo in somewhat of a chamber. I stood near the covered stairs outside the front doors of Metro Market and let the hustle and bustle of shopping carts and shoppers do its thing.

Juneau and Van Buren

The second sound I came across was simply the sounds of traffic coming from two angles and the way it reacted with the large wall I was standing in front of. This neighborhood is full of the most beautiful churches, and I was lucky enough to capture the church bells chime (even though there are buried by the heavy traffic.)

Juneau Park

The first sound I discovered was in Juneau Park, near a statue of some Greek-looking man I am not familiar with. (It was not Solomon Juneau.) I found this spot very interesting because, being at the edge of the drop to the lake, I was picking up the drone of the waves from the lake and the traffic from Lincoln Memorial and also the heavy traffic heading north on Prospect, not too far away.

Drift 1 Strategy

Strategy:
I just drew a line on Google Maps and let my brain take it where it wanted. It ended up looking like something with a bite out of it, which is probably fitting since I'm almost always hungry. Then I basically wandered about in the area I had enclosed.
